Re: Man of Steel
Not really into comics so it doesn't matter too much for me how well it'll do. I'll probably see it eventally since I do like action, although Nolan's stuff sometimes gets over-dramatic. But so far I give movie Iron Man the spot to beat for most entertaining, which from the trailer I don't think MoS will beat.

Re: Man of Steel
Eh, it's the Superman curse that has me worried, even a director as skilled as Nolan may not be able to fully overcome it. I mean Dark Knight was great, Batman Begins was good and Dark Knight Rises was pretty good, but we're talking about the most cursed of movie franchises or one of the most cursed anyway.

Re: Man of Steel
I haven't watched any of the others to know how bad they are so it's all alright with me, but that Man of Steel trailer was lame

Re: Man of Steel
If General Lance Siegfried were here, he'd probably attempt to laugh his guts out over the matter since compared to what he tends to deal with, this is lighthearted or a breather episode.
Since he's not, moot point.
*onto matter at hand*
Are the Nolan Bros stated to be Executive producers and the movie might be directed by the guy who did 300 the movie in fact?

Re: Man of Steel
well the only good one was the first Superman movie, the others were either mediocre or forgotten, several actors/actresses other than from Returns suffered tragedy, and Superman 4 is just flat out ignored due to being the antichrist.

As long as they don't make it retarded, I might actually watch it.

Re: Man of Steel
we'll see how they do, so far fans are divided on if it will be DC's answer to Iron Man, or another abomination to sweep under the rug. DC's cinematic track record is overall less than stellar when compared to Marvels, now if they got their animated series writers I would have more confidence, but as is...I don't know if Justice League will live up to the hype...and they have to be wary of what villains they use and when, DC doesn't have too many believable bring the League together threats. Marvel had Loki, as well as other Asgardian Villains, Thanos, the Chitauri/Skrulls (more the Skrulls but thanks to Sony they couldn't be used) Galactus and his Heralds (again if not for Sony)and others.

Re: Man of Steel
Marvel has More high-end threats to bring to the table than DC does as far as numbers of them are concerned, right?
Let's not go with preferences because that department's a tough call for anyone really.

Re: Man of Steel
I'm probably seeing it tomorrow. I've heard okay reviews, but it'll have to be stellar to get me into comics. Like Pulp Fiction levels.

Re: Man of Steel
Not bad. I liked the Krypton fighting and what not the best. I get that it was a origin story so I can accept the slow parts for this one.
Wished Lex made more of an appearance than just his trucks though

Re: Man of Steel
I wouldn't say it was terrible, it was pretty boring at points, though. I didn't like a lot of the stuff they did with Superman, but I didn't like a lot of the stuff that everyone else did with him, either. I'd give it a resounding "eh..."
