    So I bought a copy of Oblivion a few weeks ago and have been playing it quite a bit.

    I have to say, I can't believe Skyrim didn't keep some of the things in Oblivion, like casting a spell even with a bow or two handed weapon equipped and even underwater combat.

    What gives, Skyrim?

    Yeah way back when it was announced I was really looking forward to having a bow or crossbow + fireball, was disappointed. They also probably could've injected a lot more spells into the game rather than just updating the already-present destruction spells and all that.

    Unless that goes against lore or something, I never played Elder Scrolls before Oblivion

    I don't know if they have any spell-casting that's possible underwater before Oblivion either.

    The Legendary edition (all DLCs) was on Steam Sale for 14 bucks and I got it and a friend directed me to an Iron Man mod:




    I played around with it for a bit (I was more excited about the repulsor beam/blast than the suit)

    The suit is cool and all but even from first person it did seem a little out of place. So I got another mod called dwemer power amor. And now I can play through Skyrim like a baus:

    the repulsors are a spell (with accompanying high-tech "charging" noise) so I can use them with any suit. They're pretty OP as well, but I wouldn't expect TES folk to handle science too well anyway

    Yeah, it definitely does fire damage and possibly shock as well. But with the augmented flame perk I can  1-2 shot most 40+ lvl things on legendary mode. The Repulsor Blast has a knockdown effect and does more damage than the Repulsor Beam, but the Beam can be held down as long as you have mana so it melts things that can't get thrown around like dragons.

    Also I got a new mod to complete my dwemer tech suit -- "Dwemer Exoskeleton" it gives you 100-200% more run speed, more carry weight, more weapon damage and stuff depending on the power setting you give it. The higher the setting though the more magic vulnerability you have. You can also craft various "mounted weapons" on both the right or left arm including crossbows, axes, acid sprayer, cryo-freezer and flamethrower. The cryofreezer is just a crowd control that will make things fall over frozen for 2 sec. The damage on the flamethrower is decent but super weak compared to the repulsors, so I don't think i'll use them. Still this mod is worth it just for the run speed and extra armor rating.

    Getting back into this with some arena and gambling den mods. Also some stealth stuff and throwing knives.

    i think it's just the mask, but you can just get mods for the powers. Like super-range TK that works on people or what not

    well i tried a bunch of stuff, teleport spells, light explosion beams, auto-stealth, etc.

    But I can't keep an interest in it, so I'm going to modded Fallout. rest in piss

    nah they're cool i'm just not into the setting of skyrim to keep putting in time, i'll probably revisit it though it's fun for a few days at a time. But I haven't even beaten the story on the console version either.

    That said I did get farther than I had previously ever gotten (mostly with the Legion quests) and I found there was more to do with stealth/speech so that's good news. Anyway whenever I play it again I'll probably stick to my usual playstyle as opposed to a modded-out nuker that teleports. I was 1-shotting legendary-difficulty dragons for 0 mana cost
