Anyway, more of Nariko. This time, an age timeline.

There was a fourth part to it, but I decided I needed to work out that design separately. Quite the story I'm creating behind this character...

Well, while I'm still being lazy, here's another WIP picture...

Another villain. I call him Ankoku.

It's also perfectly accurate to call him "that immortal bastard," because that's what he is. A perpetually resurrecting demon who gets his laughs out of polluting environments, making people sick, and just straight up murder. Then again, he just laughs at everything (never speaks a single word--just Walpurgis style laughter).

If I compared my villain characters to actual comic characters, Leiko is Lex Luthor, and Ankoku is Joker.

That's how all things work in Alice's Little Wonderland!

So yeah, because of a comic I've been reading recently (great comic, but it has some pretty disturbing imagery...Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales level, you might say), I've had things like Oz and Wonderland dancing around in my head for a little while. So I had to make my own interpretation of Wonderland and it's characters.

On that note, here's Alice standing up to the Queen, and my interpretation of other Card Queens in Wonderland. To the best of my knowledge, only the Queen of Hearts card was ever written into the original stories as a character, so it started to bother me that the other three cards didn't have corresponding characters. So here you see the Queen of Clovers, Queen of Spades, and Queen of Diamonds (and the Queen of Hearts wielding an axe...).

So I've been trying to draw in a new style. I don't have anything to show for it just yet, but the style in question is supposed to be like Wind Waker or Okami (as best as I can manage without sumi-e brushes, anyway). Applying them specifically to my characters Nariko, Leiko, Ankoku, and once I nail down a design, Oorja the Savage Soldier (Nariko's mother).

The other thing I've been doing is trying to write up a history and backstory for this mess, mostly involving a creation myth, the Gods, and the creator deity I prefer to call The Mother Goddess. I can post it if anyone who still comes here is interested.

Wind Waker has a good artstyle. If you can emulate it well enough, go for it. lol

Supreme bump for great justice!

So drawing in Wind Waker style, as you can probably imagine based on the fact that this thread has been dead for like four months now, didn't work out. After that I had a little bit of an art block and only recently have I been getting out of it. Redesigned Ankoku a bit, working on making cleaner sketches, and hopefully said cleaner sketches will be easier to color at some point.

In the meantime, have a SFM video I managed to slap together.

I doubt anyone will come around hereanymore, but in the event that anyone does, I've been attempting to draw again.

I figured that my problem was that I was trying too hard to draw in a specific style, so instead of trying to replicate a style, I just drew in the shapes (the only idea in my mind being "Fairy Queen" and "Midna") and went from there.

This was the result.

I'll probably make an art thread on Take5 once I get back into my account there (lost my password).

The 4 armed version reminds me of the Great Fairies in Wind Waker. lol
